From the heel of Italy, Primitivo produces deep, rounded red wines with ripe berry character and soft, subtle tannins. Although full-bodied, the ripe almost sweet berry character and silky balance makes for easy drinking. It is claimed that Primitivo is the grape variety of origin for California's Zinfandel variety
Founded in 1928 by Carlo Botter, the company is still in family control, being third genaration. The company has grown from making wines from the family estate of 100 hectares on the Veneta-Fruili boarder, to working with producers across Italy, especially in the regions of Puglia, Molise, Abruzzo and Sicily.
